Greinke is the first to reach six wins
Zack Greinke struck out 10 batters in a six-hitter to remain undefeated and become the first six-game winner in the major leagues with his second shutout in four starts, leading the Kansas City Royals to a 3-0 win over the Chicago White Sox on Monday night.
The right-hander baffled the White Sox, working inside and out, up and down, slow and fast. Greinke didn’t walk a batter, dropped his earned-run average to 0.40 and pushed his majors-leading strikeout total to 54 during his third complete game this season.
The White Sox couldn’t overcome a shaky start from Bartolo Colon (2-2).
