Cap-and-gown cartoons may lack the wonkish weightiness of cap-and-trade, the sheer fear factor of fanatics getting nukes or the grim (and bear it) significance of Dick Cheney’s tortuous all-aboard-the-waterboard media blitz, but they’re a springtime tradition.
