HOW THE RACE WAS RUN

* Rachel Alexandra broke to the outside then was quickly straightened, moved up and disputed the pace four wide outside Big Drama while under a light hold, opened a clear lead in the upper stretch, increased her advantage under stout left-handed urging in the stretch then was fully extended to prevail.

* Mine That Bird, unhurried early, raced removed from the rail leaving the five-eighths pole, moved quickly to contention leaving the three-furlong marker, steadied behind a wall of rivals nearing the quarter pole, swung out seven wide into the lane and closed gamely to be gaining on the winner.

* Musket Man settled in a good position along the rail, moved closer leaving the three-eighths pole, steadied briefly nearing the quarter pole, angled out in the stretch, made steady progress but was out-finished.

* Flying Private was steadied off the heels of Tone It Down nearing the wire the first time, settled back toward the inside down the backstretch, steadied briefly when making his run approaching the stretch, angled out and continued on willingly.

* Big Drama, fractious at the gate, bobbled to the front at the start, vied three wide inside the winner, held well to mid-stretch then gave way grudgingly.

* Papa Clem stalked the pace while saving ground, eased out three wide entering the stretch, remained in contention to the three-sixteenths marker then flattened out.

* Terrain, unhurried early, gained between rivals leaving the five-sixteenths marker, steadied briefly when in a bit tight entering the lane then lacked the needed finishing response.

* Luv Gov saved ground early, swung eight wide in the drive and passed fading rivals.

* General Quarters, shuffled back early, moved up between rivals under rating past the five-furlong marker, continued between foes into the stretch, steadied and was forced out some leaving the three-sixteenths pole then gave way.

* Friesan Fire bobbled at the break, quickly recovered and reached a striking position into the first turn, angled out four wide for the run down the backstretch, was put a ride midway on the final turn, but tired through the drive.

* Pioneerof the Nile, caught five wide between rivals while stalking the pace, continued forwardly to the far turn, dropped back nearing the lane, swung out widest in the upper stretch, tired and was eased.

* Tone It Down was angled in early, settled under rating while two wide past the three-quarter pole, faltered leaving the far turn and was eased late.

* Take the Points was hung out six wide to the far turn, faltered then was eased through the stretch.
