FEEDBACK

Two letters in the Sunday Feedback section [“Feedback,” Sept. 13] raked Courteney Cox over the coals for openly talking about her wealth. Apparently, she’s supposed to hide that obvious fact from us because of the current global recession.

I don’t begrudge rich people their success or money. And I don’t expect them to hide their wealth out of some sense of embarrassment. If I were rich, I would enjoy my money sensibly. And I wouldn’t feel compelled to hide it. That would feel dishonest.

Finally, I have frequently read over the years that Cox is regarded by her industry as a down to earth, normal, kind person.

She deserves better than a public flogging for working hard and being successful in a trade that rarely pays off.
