Phillies end Hanson’s consecutive scoreless inning streak

Philadelphia 4, at Atlanta 2: The Phillies ended rookie Tommy Hanson’s streak of consecutive scoreless innings at 19. The Phillies won two of three from the Braves and padded the best road record in the majors to 45-29.

Chicago 6, at St. Louis 3 (11): Jake Fox hit a two-run home run in the 11th inning and the Cubs kept the Cardinals’ magic number at four for clinching the National League Central.

at Milwaukee 6, Houston 0: Prince Fielder hit his 40th home run and Yovani Gallardo (13-12) pitched five strong innings to help the Brewers complete a sweep. Fielder set a club record by walking for the 100th time.

at Cincinnati 8, Florida 1: Corky Miller hit a three-run home run and Joey Votto hit a two-run shot to back Kip Wells (2-4).

San Diego 4, at Pittsburgh 0: Kevin Correia (11-10) pitched seven innings. He is 2-0 with a 1.67 earned-run average in four starts this month.

at New York 6, Washington 2: John Maine (6-5) pitched five shutout innings to earn his first win since May. Maine, sidelined for more than three months because of a sore right shoulder, came off the disabled list Sept. 13.

at Dodgers 6, San Francisco 2: Andre Ethier hit a two-run home run and Randy Wolf (11-6) gave up only five hits in six-plus innings.
