Nancy Dowd’s winter home in the Caribbean is for sale

The longtime winter residence of Oscar-winning screenwriter Nancy Dowd has come on the market at $1,995,000 on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia.

Called Belmont, the 7-acre nature reserve overlooks Castries Harbor. The West Indies Creole-style house, built in 1895, includes four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Dowd wrote “Slap Shot” (1977), in which she also appeared, and “Coming Home” (1978), for which she won an Academy Award for best original screenplay. She was a writer on “Saturday Night Live” in 1980 and ’81.
