Nikki Blonsky (“Hairspray”) stars in this new dramedy focusing on seven teens that get shipped off to weight-loss camp for the summer — think “The Biggest Loser” meets “90210.” The series, based on the book by Sasha Paley, was penned by Wicked’s Winnie Holzman and her daughter Savannah Dooley. The brassy and valiant Scissor Sisters are back with their third studio album. Produced by dance-pop specialist Stuart Price (Madonna, Gwen Stefani), the album is laced with tracks inspired from late ‘70s-late ‘80s New York disco. (Tuesday)

Wish you could travel back to 1986? Talk about “Hot Tub Time Machine.”

After a night of drunken shenanigans in a hotel’s modified hot tub, three friends (and one nephew) wake up in 1986 and have to relive a weekend from their youth; a weekend where oversized cell phones, neon-colored eyeshadow and Kid n’ Play were all the rage. Yes, now on DVD. (Tuesday)

Looking for a frenzy-free movie to watch? Talk about “Love Ranch.”

While Bella (is faced with the oh-so-tragic decision — a shirtless brawny dude or a brooding, albeit pale, heartthrob — Helen Mirren is running Nevada’s first legalized brothel … well, her character in “Love Ranch” is. Mirren co-stars with Joe Pesci in the Taylor Hackford-directed drama. (Wednesday)
