Free flu shot clinics in South Los Angeles [Updated]
Free flu vaccine is available at clinics being held this week in South Los Angeles.
As Booster Shots reported last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is urging flu shots for almost everyone ages 6 months or older. Even if you were vaccinated last winter against pandemic H1N1 (or swine) flu, you still need an annual shot each fall to protect against influenza.
About 5% to 20% of Americans get the influenza each year. Vaccination rates are lowest among African Americans and Latinos compared to whites.
To find a clinic, call 2-1-1 or check out the L.A. County flu clinic website.

[Updated: An earlier version of this post incorrectly said the clinics are sponsored by Immunize LA Families Coalition. The clinics are actually promoted by the organization and are sponsored by LA County and other groups.]
