Seat belts: In the Jan. 6 LATExtra section, a headline on an article about a study by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on seat belt use said that Oregon and Washington state report higher use than California. In fact, California, with 93.2% of people saying they always wear a seat belt, is second to Oregon’s 94%. Washington was third at 92%.

Ethiopians in L.A.: A Jan. 3 LATExtra article about the Ethiopian community rallying to help a former Olympic boxer said there were no Ethiopian churches in Los Angeles in the 1970s. There was at least one such church, St. Tecle Hiamonot Ethiopian Orthodox Church, founded in 1974, at the time.

New Fox series: A roundup of midseason TV series in the Jan. 9 Calendar section included an item about a Fox comedy called “Mixed Signals.” That series is now called “Traffic Light.”
