Dashboard Confessional Chris Carrabba made a generation of sad-panda punk kids pick up acoustics and emote from the depths of their LiveJournals a decade ago with “The Swiss Army Romance.” Now he revisits that record and his unexpectedly durable career as a balladeer with this Troubadour stand. That “making out” pun in “Screaming Infidelities” is still really funny, though. Troubadour, 9081 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood. 7:30 p.m. Through Friday. $29. https://www.Troubadour.com.

Willie Nelson With Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real opening, the recently shorn country icon headlines a one-night engagement at the Anaheim House of Blues. After a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge and losing his braids in 2010, the “On the Road Again” singer looks to prove that he’s no Samson. House of Blues Anaheim, 1530 S. Disneyland Drive, Anaheim. Doors 7 p.m. $65. https://www.houseofblues.com.

ART

My Barbarian If you’ve ever thought that making it as an artist is a bit of a waking nightmare, the L.A.-based collaborative group feels your pain. In this satirical video work, it lampoons the artistic establishment by aligning it with the great mythical specter of 2009, the Death Panel. Hammer Museum, 10899 Wilshire Blvd., L.A. 7 p.m. Free. https://www.hammer.ucla.edu.
