Comic Steve Martin lists Caribbean retreat for sale

Comedian Steve Martin has listed his vacation retreat on the Caribbean island of St. Barts for about $11.4 million.

Called Villa au Soleil and set on more than half an acre in the hills of Lurin, the property includes a two-tiered swimming pool, a poolside barbecue center, a Balinese-inspired gazebo, gardens, a lily pond and ocean and hillside views. Living space includes a media room, multiple decks, four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. There are outdoor showers. A hot tub sits on the terrace of the master bedroom.

Martin, 67, bought the vacation home in 2008 for around $9 million and has been renting it out at weekly rates of $16,500 to $38,000 depending on the season.

The actor-writer-musician is known for his roles in “The Jerk” (1979), “Three Amigos” (1986) and the “Cheaper by the Dozen” films (2003 and 2005). The long time “Saturday Night Live” guest and banjo player will be touring this summer with the Steep Canyon Rangers. They will be at the Hollywood Bowl in August.
