Apple presents iPod Touch with more power, bigger screen, Siri

SAN FRANCISCO -- Besides the iPhone 5, Apple also announced an updated version of the iPod Touch, now with a more powerful processor and the same 4-inch screen as the iPhone 5.

The new iPod Touch is getting Apple’s A5 chip, which will make the device’s CPU twice as fast. Siri is also making the jump to the iPod Touch.

The iPod Touch will now be 6.1 mm and weigh 88 grams. Its battery has also been improved and it can get as much as eight hours of continuous video playback. Apple said the new iPod Touch will have graphics that are seven times faster.

The device’s rear camera has also been updated to 5 megapixels.

The iPod Touch will also be available in colors besides black and white for the first time.

Apple also introduced a new accessory called the iPod Touch Loop, which people can connect to the device and strap on their wrists.

The new device will come with 32GB of storage for $299 and 64GB of storage for $399. The older iPod Touch will be available with 16GB of storage for $199 and 32GB for $249.
