Samsung has invited the press to its next major phone event, where the company could announce the next version of the Galaxy Note smartphone/tablet hybrid.

The South Korean tech giant sent out invitations for Sept. 4 at the IFA annual consumer electronics show in Berlin, where Samsung has announced the past two versions of the Galaxy Note.

As a clue for what is likely to be announced, the invitation reads “Note the date.”

Samsung is calling the event “Samsung Unpacked 2013 Episode 2.” Earlier this year, the company unveiled the Galaxy S 4 at episode 1 of the event. The two lines of devices, the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note smartphones, are two of Samsung’s most popular mobile devices.

The original Galaxy Note made its debut two years ago as one of the first devices with a 5-inch screen. The Galaxy Note was presented as a hybrid smartphone and tablet device, and after its successful launch, dozens of other companies have launched large-screened smartphones.

The Galaxy Note III is expected to have a 5.7-inch, 1080p HD screen, which would be a larger and higher-resolution display than the one on the Galaxy Note II.
