NFL star Adrian Peterson snags a buyer for Texas-sized mansion outside Houston

In Texas, Adrian Peterson’s home sale saga appears to be drawing to a close. His gated mansion, which has waffled on and off the market for the last three years, is now listed pending, records show.

The star running back picked up the property six years ago for $5.05 million, and he had it on the market for $4.7 million earlier this month.

Found in the Woodlands, a master-planned community outside Houston, the brick house sits on nine tree-filled acres. A circular motor court approaches the home before opening to 10,582 square feet of dramatic living spaces.

Five fireplaces, seven bedrooms and 10.5 bathrooms are spread across the two-story interior. There’s a center-island kitchen filled with brick, as well as two more kitchens outside.

Highlights include a foyer with a sweeping staircase, a formal dining room, a living room with picture windows, a two-story library and a wine cellar. Downstairs, a den with a wet bar leads to a game room and movie theater.

On the second level, the master suite expands to a rotunda-topped lounge and private balcony. Views take in the winding trails and trees that surround the estate.

Past a covered patio, the backyard holds a swimming pool and spa.

Beth Cassidy of Carnan Properties Houston is the listing agent.

Peterson, a seven-time Pro Bowler, played with the Vikings for the majority of his NFL career before stints with the Saints, Cardinals and Redskins. In addition to winning the MVP Award in 2012, he also holds the record for most rushing yards in a single game at 296.
