Former baseball manager and Detroit Tigers star Alan Trammell has listed a San Diego home for sale at $499,000.
The Midcentury Modern-style house, built in 1959, features raised ceilings, walls of windows and a living room with a wood-burning and marble-lined hearth. The 1,200 square feet of open-plan space includes an updated kitchen with granite countertops.
The master suite has an updated bathroom for a total of three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Glass doors open to a brick-lined patio set among tall palms and tropical flora. A pair of matching lawns and a raised garden planter complete the setting.
Trammell, 57, attended Kearny High School in San Diego and was later drafted by the Tigers in the second round of the 1976 amateur draft. The shortstop spent the entirety of his 20-year career with Detroit, earning six all-star nods and winning a world series title with the team in 1984.
As a coach, Trammell has worked as a coach for the Detroit, San Diego, Chicago and Arizona. He was manager of Tigers from 2003-2005.
He bought the house in 2003 for $419,000, records show.
Jasmine Kung of Shoreline Properties has the listing.
