Ben Bostrom, the former pro motorcycle racer and X-Games gold medalist, has changed gears on his Malibu property, listing the home for rent at $10,000 a month. Alternatively, the home can be purchased for $1.995 million.

The Redding native previously put the house, found on a hillside in Latigo Canyon, up for sale in 2013 with an asking price of $2.495 million.

The three-level home, with ocean and mountain views, features exposed beams, reclaimed barn wood flooring and other rustic appointments. The 5,000 square feet of living space includes a designer kitchen with custom cabinetry, a family room, formal living room, den/office, five bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Bostrom, 40, won championships in the AMA Pro Superbike (1998) and Supersport (2008) series before retiring in 2012. His brother, Eric Bostrom, is also a professional motorcycle racer.

Public records show that Bostrom purchased the property in 2007 for $2.4 million. Christopher Cortazzo of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is the listing agent.
