Record producer Harvey Mason Jr. finds a contemporary home in Studio City

Months after selling his ocean-view home in Manhattan Beach, music producer Harvey Mason Jr. has bought something a bit more modern in Studio City. The contemporary estate set him back $2.4 million, records show.

The 3,122-square-foot house is around 2,000 square feet shy of his old place, but the stylish interior makes up for the downsize. Pairing white walls with black-trimmed windows, the floor plan offers open living spaces lined with wide-plank hardwood floors.

There’s an indoor-outdoor living room, a family room with a fireplace, a two-story dining area and a black-and-white kitchen with floating shelves and a center island.

Elsewhere are four bedrooms, four bathrooms and an office. Upstairs, the master suite expands to a balcony with treetop and city light views.

Landscaping beautifies the hilly grounds, and the property also holds a patio with a dining area.

Denise Snanoudj and Victor Brown of the Agency held the listing. Snanoudj also represented the buyer.

Mason Jr., 50, boasts collaborations with Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears. On the film side, he’s produced music for the movies “Dreamgirls,” “Pitch Perfect” and “Straight Outta Compton.”
