Retired Major League Baseball outfielder Jim Edmonds is taking another swing at selling his estate in Irvine.

The former Angels star has put his Santa Barbara-style residence back on the market at $6.95 million. The property listed for sale last year at $7.999 million, but saw its price reduced twice before being pulled from the market in early June.

The custom home, built in 2008, occupies nearly an acre in the Shady Canyon golf course community with a detached guest casita, expansive loggias, an outdoor kitchen and a pool and spa.

Exposed beams and limestone are a common theme throughout the three-story floor plan, which counts six bedrooms and seven bathrooms in 10,000 square feet. Among features is a game room, a movie theater, a wine cellar and a gym with a sauna.

Edmonds, 44, spent the bulk of his career with the Angels and Cardinals, notching eight Gold Glove awards, four All-Star appearances and a World Series title (2006) in 17 seasons. The Fullerton native currently works as a broadcaster for Fox Sports Midwest.

Records show that Edmonds purchased the property in January 2008. Jacqueline Thompson of Surterre Properties is now the listing agent.
