Television executive Joe D’Ambrosia, who oversees production and creative development for Disney Junior, has sold his home bordering the Silver Lake and Echo Park neighborhoods for $1.225 million — $30,000 over the asking price.

Built in 1922 and well-maintained through the years, the gated Spanish-style house sits up from the street and is reached by a staircase decorated in bright tile risers. A tall bird of paradise bush and other green landscaping frame the front door.

Within the 1,630 square feet of interior space is an open living/dining room, a galley-style kitchen with butcherblock countertops, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Arched doorways connect the common areas, and French doors off the dining room open to a trellis-topped courtyard and garden.

A Saltillo-tiled patio, a small lawn, trees and landscaping fill the fenced and hedged grounds. Another courtyard and patio sit off the front of the home.

D’Ambrosia, 52, in April was promoted to senior vice president of original programming at Disney Junior. He oversees a portfolio of programming that includes “Doc McStuffins,” “Sofia the First” and “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.”

He bought the house more than a decade ago for $540,000.

The L.A. Times Mapping Database considers the area to be Echo Park; the Multiple Listing Service classifies it as Silver Lake.

Laura T. Mullen of Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent. Angela Bond of Keller Williams Larchmont represented the buyer.
