‘Mad Men’ creator Matthew Weiner picks up an investment property in Westlake
Television writer-director-producer Matthew Weiner, who is developing a new series for Amazon, has bought a multi-family residence in the Westlake area of Central Los Angeles for $1.715 million.
Tucked behind a privacy wall and bamboo, the property recently underwent a renovation that saw the original duplex replaced by a modern fourplex. The quartet of units combines to offer a total of 12 bedrooms and four bathrooms in nearly 3,400 square feet of living space.
Among features of the units are 10-foot ceilings, hardwood floors and loft-style kitchens with stainless steel appliances. Each unit also has individual space and a pair of parking spots, according to listing details.
The property came up for sale in September and sold for the asking price, records show. A year ago it sold for $415,000.
Moses Kagan of Adaptive Realty was the listing agent. Rachael Hughel of White House Properties represented the buyer.
Weiner, 51, won multiple Emmys for the period drama “Mad Men,” which he created, as well the HBO show “The Sopranos.” His new series for Amazon is reportedly an eight-episode anthology series set in the present day.
