Former Raider Nnamdi Asomugha lists in Redondo Beach

A multi-unit residence owned by Nnamdi Asomugha, the former Narbonne High School star and NFL all-pro defensive back, is on the market in Redondo Beach for $1.699 million.

Located on a corner lot in North Redondo Beach, the property includes a three-bedroom townhouse-style apartment with a bonus room and three additional two-bedroom apartments for a total of 12 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms in 5,400 square feet.

Each of the units has a private patio, with the larger of the apartments featuring an additional patio and a two-car garage. Four separate, one-car garage spaces sit at the rear of the property.

The residence last sold in 2006 for $1.51 million, records show. Frank Oti of Spec Homes Realtors is the listing agent.

Over the last decade, Asomugha, once the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL, has invested in a wide range of single- and multi-family properties in the Los Angeles area and Arizona.

Among his more recent transactions are home sales in Carson, Gardena and Lawndell as well as a house in Berkeley. On the purchase side, he bought a French Country-inspired house in Hollywood Hills West in May 2014 The house, purchased from actress Nicole Sullivan, sold for $1.865 million.

A first-round pick out of UC Berkeley in 2003, Asomugha spent 11 seasons in the NFL with the Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers, making three Pro Bowl teams.

Since retiring in 2013, the husband of actress Kerry Washington has dabbled in acting, appearing in episodes of TV’s “The Game,” “Friday Night Lights” and “Kroll Show” as well as the 2012 film “Fire with Fire.”
