Hot Property: Price chops: George Jones estate now under $3 million

Share

Before his death in 2013, George Jones asked as much as $15.5 million for his 80-acre estate in Franklin, Tenn. Although a sizable chunk of its acreage has been sold off at auction, the late music icon’s main estate continues to linger on the market like a heartbreaking country song.

The estate, which includes 20 acres, now lists for sale at $2.995 million. It includes a Plantation-style house of 9,700 square feet with four bedrooms and seven full baths. A beauty salon, private office and a “Floridaroom” are among its features. Outdoors, the formidable horse property has two guest quarters, a pool, a nine-stall stable and a private lake.

Tool frontman rocking a discount in Beachwood Canyon

Balinese and Moroccan influences don’t seem very metal -- unless it involves the Beachwood Canyon home of Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan. The progressive rock star is now spinning a discount when it comes to the 3,750-square-foot Mediterranean, which sports views of the Hollywood sign from its remote hilltop location. Offered for $2.795 million in March, the exotic pad now lists for $2.495 million.
