Tia Carrere bids adieu to mountaintop home in Topanga
Actress-singer Tia Carrere has sold her home in Topanga for $2.52 million, $75,000 shy of her asking price.
The residence, built in 2008 and since updated, occupies a three-acre hilltop with a gated play yard, expansive patios, a north-south tennis court and a saltwater lap pool. Hiking trails circle the property.
An open-space floor plan of about 3,600 square feet features a clean, modern aesthetic with raised ceilings, picture windows and skylights. Amenities include a media room, an office, a gym and dual master suites. In all, there are four bedrooms and five bathrooms.
Outdoors, tiered grounds dotted by mature trees offer wide views of the surrounding mountains, the ocean and Santa Catalina Island.
Carrere, 47, is known for her role as Cassandra Wong in the comedy films “Wayne’s World” (1992) and “Wayne’s World 2” (1993). She has also appeared on “Dancing With the Stars” and “Celebrity Apprentice.”
The Hawaiian-born songstress won Grammy Awards in 2008 and 2010 for her albums “Huana Ke Aloha” and “Ikena.”
The home originally came to market in September at $2.595 million and was pending sale within a month. Records show that the property previously sold for $1.625 million in 2005.
Monica Perkal and Katherine Berlyn of Coldwell Banker Previews International were the listing agents. John Snyder of Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer in the sale.
