Tom Telesco, the general manager of the San Diego Chargers, has made an upgrade of his own this NFL offseason, purchasing an estate in Rancho Santa Fe for $2.26 million.

The Traditional-style home, built in 1989, is sited on one-and-a-half acres in Fairbanks Ranch, an area about 20 miles north of Qualcomm Stadium. Spanning two floors, the nearly 5,400 square feet of living space includes a gourmet kitchen, a craft room, a living room with a brick fireplace, a temperature-controlled wine cellar, six bedrooms and five full baths.

Outdoors, resort-like grounds contain a large patio with fire pit, lap pool and spa.

Telesco, 41, joined the Chargers’ front office in 2013 after more than a decade with the Indianapolis Colts organization.

The home originally came to market in early February at $2.35 million, according to public records. Sale of the property closed June 2. Laura Barry of Barry Estates was the listing agent. Daniel Beer of Windermere Homes & Estates represented Telesco in the sale.

Telesco put $452,000 (20%) down on the home, financing $1.808 million. At a 4.25% fixed rate at 30 years, his estimated monthly payment would be $8,894.27, according to Foothill Ranch independent lender LoanDepot.
