Bijou Durden’s home in the Beverly Hills Post Office area is for sale
The Beverly Hills Post Office-area home of the late stage actress Bijou Durden is on the market at $3.35 million.
Now owned by her sons, film producer Bruce Cohn Curtis and Washington, D.C., club owner Tom Curtis, the 1927 Italian-style villa was often leased out to celebrities during Durden’s later ownership. Among the renters were actress and model Elizabeth Hurley, actor Christopher Lambert and singer-actress Sarah Brightman.
Vintage light fixtures, moldings and shutters bring period details to the renovated 3,721-square-foot house. There is a master suite with a balcony, three upstairs bedrooms, another bedroom at the swimming pool level, a den and four bathrooms.
Durden, who died in 2009, owned the house for nearly 50 years.
Paul Czako and Gregory Yeardye of Gussman Czako Estates have the listing.
