Tonys 2013: Joan Rivers name checks ‘Bosom Buddies’ on Twitter

Tom Hanks may have lost lead actor in a play, but he has a fan in Joan Rivers.

Hanks was considered a front-runner for his performance in “Lucky Guy.” Instead, the Tony went to Tracy Letts for “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?”

Letts had previously won a Pulitzer Prize for his play “August: Osage County,” so his mantle wasn’t bare before Sunday night. And, of course, Hanks has two Oscars to keep him company.

Who were the big winners at the 67th Tony Awards? “Kinky Boots” took the most Tonys with six. Coming in second? “Matilda,” with four.
