Cristin Milioti of ‘Once’ in talks to join Scorsese’s next film
Cristin Milioti, the Tony Award-nominated leading lady of the musical romance “Once,” could star in a not-so-sweet story on the big screen opposite Leonardo DiCaprio.
Milioti reportedly is in talks join the cast of Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street,” which chronicles the financial and personal rise and fall of Jordan Belfort (DiCaprio).
Milioti is being considered to play Belfort’s first wife, an Italian American hairdresser heartbroken by her husband’s infidelities.
Production is set to start in New York in August, allowing Milioti to continue for now her role as Girl in the Tony-winning musical.
The “Wolf” script, penned by “Boardwalk Empire” creator Terence Winter, is based on Belfort’s autobiography of the same name that chronicles the fraud, excess and addiction that earned the stock market manipulator a 22-month prison sentence in the late 1990s.
The cast also includes Jonah Hill, Kyle Chandler and Oscar winner Jean Dujardin of “The Artist” as a suave, money-laundering Swiss banker.
