Bagby Pizza opened Aug. 13 in The Festival at Woodholme Shopping Center in Pikesville. The 2,000-square-foot restaurant is in the space once occupied by Lexington Lady. The new restaurant will be a quick-service adaptation of the original Bagby Pizza in Harbor East.

Magdalena, the restaurant within The Ivy Hotel, the new Mid-town Belvedere luxury hotel where nightly room rates start at $475, opened mid-June. The executive chef for the 75-seat restaurant, which is open for dinner only, Monday through Saturday, is Mark Levy, formerly of The Point, an exclusive resort in New York’s Adirondack mountains.

Irena Stein’s soigne, stylish 90-seat Venezuelan restaurant opened in late April in the Can Company. Alma Cocina Latina is the best restaurant to open for years in Canton. -- Richard Gorelick

Katana opened on Boston Street in Canton. The Japanese restaurant serves ramen, pad Thai, Singapore noodles and fresh sushi and sashimi. The location was formerly home to Red Fish.

The Belgian-influenced casual neighborhood spot Baroak Cookhouse and Taproom opened March 5 in the Loews Annapolis Hotel.

Opened in early 2015, The Hideaway (1439 Odenton Road, Odenton, 410-874-7300; hideawayodenton.com) is housed in a storied, if out of the way, Odenton spot. The location has been home to a restaurant since the mid-1930s; from the 1970s through 2014, was Jim’s Hideaway, a crab house with a loyal following. In its newest incarnation, The Hideaway is a barbecue restaurant owned by Bob Krohn and Danny and Diane Reugg. -- Kit Waksom Pollard
