“The Wizard of Oz” had its premiere at the Chinese Theatre in 1939. In November 2007, surviving players of the movie’s Munchkins, including Margaret Pellegrini, were honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Chinese Theatre

The Chinese Theatre -- like Hollywood in general -- loves a spectacle. When “Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith” opened in 2005, a parade of stormtroopers and fans paraded from the Chinese Theatre to the nearby ArcLight, where the premiere was held.  (Genaro Molina / Los Angeles Times)
