Kim Kardashian goes platinum blond at Balmain; the Malfoys react

Share

Kim Kardashian has traded in her signature dark mane for platinum blond locks.

And we shall call her... Rita Ora! Or, a Malfoy!

The attention-grabbing "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star showed off the makeover Thursday on Instagram and fully debuted the look at the Balmain runway show in Paris, where she sat front row with hubby Kanye West and mom Kris Jenner.

"So I went platinum!! I have the best team!" the 34-year-old wrote. "Thank you to @joycebonelli for being my inspiration and introducing me to @GregoryRussellHair who cut my hair & put this team together! Thank you @LorriGoddard_ who dyed my hair & got this color in one try! Not an easy task!"

It takes a village, no?

Mrs. Kanye West has gone blond several times before, notably in September 2013, shortly after giving birth to daughter North West. Knowing that her legion of fans would pore over her selfies, she also pulled a prank in June by donning a wig and announcing that she'd returned to the light side.

The Internet, bless its heart and humor, promptly compared Kardashian to "Harry Potter" villains Draco and Lucius Malfoy, both of whom boast coifs of the same color.

"Seriously though. I wondered where my wig went. Lucius had some good work done... " actor Jason Isaacs quipped on Twitter.

"So apparently Kanye has a Draco fetish....#muse," responded Tom Felton, who plays the younger Slytherin star, sharing one of the numerous memes that sprouted on Thursday.

Isaacs, who now stars in USA's "Dig," wholeheartedly disagreed, tweeting back, "I think you'll find son, that he's after Lucious Lucius."

The one-time sex-tape star, who managed to top even herself by baring it all for Paper magazine in November, told People last summer that her rapper husband prefers the lighter look.

"He asked if I would ever go back to blonde," she said. "I was like, 'Not right after a baby, because my face was so swollen and it looked like my lips were huge. My face was just off.'"

In early February, she chopped off her long mane and opted for a bob right before the Grammy Awards.

Meanwhile, the Internet is fully intact.
