"Answering yes or no to personal questions can be tricky because if you say 'No' it means whenever you say 'No comment' that kind of becomes your default 'Yes,'" Munn wrote on Instagram. "But since I'm doing press for the next few days, I didn't want to have to answer the same question over and over. So instead, I'm going to let my text conversation with my Asian mom help me out. #Colberto"

We'll get to "Colberto," in a sec. Here's how the text exchange went:

"Oh man you engagement??" her mom's text message said. "You know we love Aaron. I pray say thanks for him all the times. I bet [your dog] Chance happy. Hey why don't you tell me first?"

To that, the the "X-Men: Apocalypse" actress responded with disbelief and a pat shutdown of the rumor.

"Oh my gosh Mom no," the 35-year-old wrote. "You know you shouldn't believe gossip on the Internet. If I was engaged, I promise you'd be like the 8th person to know. Maybe 9th. But definitely way before the Internet."

Incidentally, the OK! Magazine story alleged that Rodgers got permission from Munn's family before popping the question.

Anyway, her mom ceded then touted her daughter's upcoming appearances with the "so delicate" Kelly Ripa on "Live! With Kelly and Michael" and "The Late Show" with Stephen Colbert, whom she so affectionately nicknamed "Colberto."

Munn has been dating Rodgers since 2014, and the Monday report said that he proposed over the holidays, with the news coming on the heels of his Green Bay Packers' win against the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
