Hollywood Headlines: a crazy week in review

Whitney Houston‘s triumphant return to form hasn’t been so triumphant as of late. Her latest concert in Denmark saw a couple hundred fans WALK OUT -- as they realized her voice had done the same thing only slightly earlier. More than one reviewer gave her zero stars, one of them adding that she “sounded like a person who doesn’t have many years left to live.” And did you see how she looked? The Lady of Gaga premiered her latest video, Alejandro, this week. A Spanish-themed peon to lovers who won’t take no for an answer, the visuals are something that have to be seen to be believed... except we’ve seen it all already. Madonna collaborator Steven Klein directed the video, which included religious imagery and, of course, sexual shenanigans. It would be all so shocking if this was, like, 1985. Most press junkets are the same old same old. Cast sits in front of the camera, talks incessantly about their movie until they’re bored and that’s about it. That’s exactly the way things were going for Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph and Maria Bello during the junket for their new film “Grown Ups” -- and then a snake slithered up. What follows is comedy gold. Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer dazzled at HBO’s “True Blood” Season 3 premiere party. Sitting back to back at separate tables, they talked about how they each had other plus ones just so they could bring more friends. And what a party it was; Boulevard 3 was transformed into a gothic wonderland with giant candlesticks and werewolves. Those vamps sure know how to create an ambiance. Click for more.  (Alberto E. Gary Coleman’s ashes were limbo as the debate rages as to where they’re going to end up. His former manager Dion Mial claims to be executor of his will as does his former wife Shannon Price. So to clarify, a former wife and a former manager are battling over the late actor. Other shenanigans are clouding Gary’s passing: Deathbed photos were released under shady circumstances with Price denying she had anything to do with it -- then changing her mind. Gordon Brown, the ex-Prime Minister, wasn’t the only Brown having difficulties with the U.K. recently. Chris Brown (no relation) was denied a visa to enter the country because of the assault on Rihanna. Brown’s European tour was scheduled to start in Scotland but it’s been canceled for now.
