Call it “hologram,” a “CGI creation” or whatever else you’d like, but the moving and speaking image of deceased rapper Tupac Shakur became an Internet sensation after performing onstage during the last day of the first weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Now, there are reports of a possible tour for the image and more. (Christopher Polk / Getty Images for Coachella)
Angry Mel Gibson is back -- and he just might be angry enough to sue “The Maccabees” screenwriter Joe Ezsterhas for releasing a recording of a rant that went down in December at the actor’s Costa Rica home. Sources “connected with Mel” told TMZ that Gibson believes he has a basic right not to be secretly recorded in his own home. Meanwhile, the actor’s new film “Get the Gringo” is going to video on demand after a one-night theatrical run. But even the screening was not without drama, as Gibson tried to joke about one of the filmmakers with the line “Funny, you don’t look Jewish,” eliciting groans from the audience. Nicknamed “America’s oldest teenager” because of his seemingly eternal young looks, Dick Clark died Wednesday at 82. The television personality and impresario introduced rock ‘n’ roll to much of the nation on “American Bandstand” and for four decades was the first and last voice many Americans heard each year with his New Year’s Eve countdowns. Lindsay Lohan plus a nightclub equals bad mojo, it seems, no matter what she’s actually doing at the place. Lilo, who just two weeks ago was accused of shoving a woman at the Smoke & Mirrors club at the Standard hotel on Sunset, allegedly wound up on the wrong side of a thrown drink at that same club Wednesday night, where she’d been hanging out in a booth with dad Michael Lohan.

Two Nashville men (Christopher Johnson, left, and Nathaniel Claybrooks) filed a class-action suit Wednesday against “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” claiming that the ABC dating shows intentionally exclude people of color. They contend that both shows over the last 10 years and 23 combined seasons have never featured a person of color in the central role. Warner Horizon Television, the studio behind the shows, has denied the claims. (Mark Humphrey / Associated Press)
First it was Pippa Middleton’s buns, but now it’s a gun that’s got the eyes of the world trained on the sister of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Pippa was photographed in Paris on Sunday in a car with three male friends, the driver brandishing what appeared to be a semiautomatic pistol at a photographer. But by midweek, one of the passengers had apologized and said the gun was but a toy. (Scott Heppell / Associated Press)
“LOL” was supposed to represent a big step for Miley Cyrus’ movie career as she attempts to mature beyond Disney’s Hannah Montana. Instead, it has turned into a tough lesson about how quickly a Hollywood studio can fall out of love with a movie. The Lionsgate studio has quietly decided to release “LOL” in seven cities on May 4, the same day as the sure-to-be blockbuster “Avengers,” and without any marketing fanfare.
