J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter feel the birthday love on social media today
Wizards and muggles worldwide are celebrating two important birthdays today.
J.K. Rowling, the creator of the Harry Potter empire, turned 53 today and shares a birthday with her beloved character, who has leaped from the page to the stage and silver screen and beyond.
Potter would be 38 years old, according to the books, movie and Tony Award-winning “Cursed Child” timelines, which indicate that the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry alum was born in 1980. Pottermore, a digital look at the wizarding world, confirms the date in its Potter profile.
The “Harry Potter” world has only grown since the book release of “Philosopher’s Stone,” which celebrated its 21-year anniversary in June. Rowling is currently promoting the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” movies, which are based on the textbook given to all Hogwarts students and focus on life before Potter and his friends.
“I’m a long way out of my usual time zone and have just woken up to hundreds of early birthday greetings! Thank you,” Rowling wrote on Twitter Tuesday.
Here are some of the Potterheads who sent their birthday wishes to the dynamic duo.
