‘Twilight’: What’s next for the stars of ‘Breaking Dawn’?
“Twilight” kicked off the careers of many young Hollywood hopefuls, catapulting them from oblivion to international stardom. As the saga about vampire Edward Cullen and his girlfriend Bella Swan winds down with “Breaking Dawn,” it’s time for cast members Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and friends to set out on their own. Now, find out what lies ahead for the “Twilight” cast. (Kimberley French / Summit Entertainment)
Twilight past: As Bella, Kristen Stewart is the lovesick teenager at the heart of the whole Twilight series. In her new town of Forks, Wash., she falls in love with vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). In a move that will change her life forever, Bella opts to become a vampire, which Edward protests. There are other complicating factors, namely a werewolf and middling tribes of vampires who have their own ambitions for Bella & Edward.
Hollywood future: Stewart, who has already played rock Joan Jett in “The Runaways,” has a pair of high-profile projects in the near future. She’ll star as Marylou in the film adaptation of Jack Kerouac‘s legendary book “On the Road,” and then take on the role of Snow White in Universal’s action-focused take on the fairy tale. Charlize Theron plays the Evil Queen in “Snow White & the Huntsman.” (Kimberley French / Summit)
‘Twilight’ past: Edward Cullen is a vegetarian vampire trying to blend in with the kids at Forks High School, along with blood-sucking siblings Alice, Jasper, Rosalee and Emmett. Although he looks 17, he was actually born in 1901. His adoptive father reluctantly turned him into a vamp in 1918 on his deathbed. With a gift for reading minds, Edward is especially taken by a new girl at school, Bella Swan, when he can’t read hers. Love and marriage soon follow.
Hollywood future: Next up, Pattinson will star as scoundrel Georges Duroy in the new film adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s “Bel Ami,” about a former soldier turned journalist who climbs the social ladder by seducing influential women in Paris. He will follow the period piece with David Cronenberg‘s “Cosmopolis,” playing a millionaire on a limo ride through Manhattan to get a haircut. (Kimberley French / Summit Entertainment)
‘Twilight’ past: Shape-shifting werewolf Jacob Black is the third point in the love triangle between human Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen. Lautner’s brown-eyed gaze embodies Jacob’s protectiveness, and his hotblooded nature serves as a foil for Edward’s marble-like countenance.
Hollywood future: After a stint as an action hero in John Singleton‘s “Abduction,” Lautner has a couple of non-"Twilight” projects lined up. He’s acting with Dwayne Johnson in “Goliath,” and he’s playing an imprisoned boy who works with the warden’s daughter to find freedom in “Incarceration,” both slated for 2013. (Andrew Cooper / Summit Entertainment)
‘Twilight’ past: Dr. Carlisle Cullen is the patriarch of the Olympic Cullen clan. As a doctor, he turned several members of his vegetarian family into vampires as an act of kindness before they died of unfortunate circumstances. He has trained himself to reject his bloodlust so that he can still work as chief of Forks Hospital. The meager salary is supplemented by having an adopted daughter who sees the future and can accurately predict the stock market.
Hollywood future:Peter Facinelli will continue to play the role of narcissistic New York doctor Fitch Cooper in the fourth season of the Showtime series “Nurse Jackie.” He will also appear in the romantic comedy he wrote, “Loosies.” (Kimberley French / Summit Entertainment)
‘Twilight’ past: Carlisle’s wife Esme’s capacity for compassionate love for those around her naturally places her in the role of matriarch to her adoptive (vegetarian) vampire children: Emmett, Rosalie, Alice, Jasper and Edward. She welcomed Edward’s human girlfriend into her family with open arms and serves as a second mother figure, one who helps guide Bella in the world of the supernatural, when Bella’s birth mother, Renee, is away in Arizona and Florida.
Hollywood future:Elizabeth Reaser had TV stints on “Grey’s Anatomy” and “The Good Wife.” Between the concluding films of “The Twilight Saga,” she’ll appear in the dramedies “Young Adult” with Charlize Theron and “Liberal Arts” with Zac Efron, Elizabeth Olsen and Josh Radnor. (Peter Sorel / Summit Entertainment)
Twilight past: Alice Cullen took a quick liking to Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) when she was introduced to the vampire family, and audiences took a quick liking to her as one of the most popular characters in the franchise. Alice, who dates Jasper, has many talents. Not only can she see into the future, but she’s a fierce warrior, fashionista and Bella’s wedding planner.
Hollywood future: She has completed filming on two projects: “The Apparition,” a supernatural thriller with “Harry Potter” star Tom Felton, and “LOL,” a social-network-inspired film dealing with high school, romance and parents co-starring Miley Cyrus, Demi Moore and Gina Gershon. There’s also “A Warrior’s Heart,” with fellow “Twilight” actor Kellan Lutz and a rumored Oliver Twist-like project on the horizon. (Kimberley French)

Hollywood future: The country gentleman recently completed a rodeo-centric film called “Cowgirls ‘n Angels,” costarring Bailee Madison and Alicia Witt. He is active in a Web series called “Aim High” and has upcoming projects that include “Live at the Foxes Den” with Jocelin Donahue, “Zombie Hamlet” with Melora Hardin, Jason Mewes and Shelley Long. Besides his acting gigs, Rathbone is also a member of a band called 100 Monkeys, which has a song on the “Breaking Dawn” soundtrack. (Peter Sorel / SMPSP)
Twilight past: Rosalie was born in 1915 but is frozen in time at age 18. She’s the adoptive sister of Edward (Robert Pattinson) but one day dreamed of the two of them being lovers. Nevertheless, they are great friends, despite Rosalie’s jealousy early of Bella (Kristen Stewart). Rosalie has some of the highest vampire morals and becomes a trusted pal to Bella as the series winds down.
Hollywood future: Next month, she can be caught in the straight-to-video film “Catch .44.” Reed’s name has been attached to the thriller “Downers Grove,” which also stars Hayden Panettiere and was written by “American Psycho” novelist Bret Easton Ellis. (Kimberley French / Summit Entertainment)

Hollywood future: After wielding Poseidon’s trident in “Immortals,” Lutz has several more movies in the works. He’s acting in “Syrup,” a 2012 movie based on Max Barry’s novel; he’s lending his voice to the anime feature film “Guardians of Luna,” slated for a 2012 release; and he’s acting alongside Mickey Rourke in a terrorist thriller “Java Heat,” scheduled for 2013. Hollywood future: In addition to roles in small indie films such as “Avarice” and “SoBe Real,” the Canadian actress and musician known for playing Aboriginal roles is also lending her voice to several roles in the upcoming LucasArts massively multiplayer online role-playing game, “Star Wars: The Old Republic.” (Frazer Harrison / Getty Images)
‘Twilight’ past: Leah Clearwater is the only female shape-shifting wolf of the Quileute wolf pack. She was involved with alpha male Sam Uley until he imprinted and fell in love with someone else.
