Actually, that’s not true. There’s nothing uglier than two reality show moms bickering.
Maybe it’s because despite the amount of bickering that goes on within their self-contained tabloid lives, we always assumed there was an unspoken camraderie among these media obsessions. But Nadya Suleman’s regular criticisms of “Jon & Kate Plus 8" mom Kate Gosselin have blown that Pollyanna-ish view of the world out of the water. Now that the gloves are off, who would win in a street brawl? We pitted these two middle weights (they’ve lost the baby-fat, thank you very much) against each other to find out who’s the best mom. Er, tabloid mom.

Nadya Suleman: Taken on as a cause by Dr. Phil. The talk show doc has donated vast amounts of money personally and has set up a donation page for her on his website. Not to mention her spacious new house, childcare volunteers, etc.
Kate Gosselin: Ah, the life that graft built. There’s the house, the vehicles, the trips, the clothes, the surgeries. You name it, she probably didn’t pay for it.
Winner: Kate. While Nadya has managed to figure out how to work disability and other forms of public aid to her benefit, Kate was much sneakier in amassing all her goodies. She has a stockpile and source for many more freebies to come, while once public interest has moved on Nadya is going to have to grub around for every little handout.
Nadya Suleman: A nose job, lip and cheek implants, Botox and a variety of facial fillers.
Kate Gosselin: A tummy tuck (free, naturally).
Winner: Nadya. We’re not going to begrudge a woman who pushed out six children having her belly button lifted back up from her knees. Nadya, on the other hand, has gone above and beyond anything that conceivably “needs” to be done.
Nadya Suleman: Almost singlehandedly put the new RadarOnline on the map. The site, owned by National Enquirer and Star publisher AMI, has posted several hundred Octomom items in the last few months and claimed 3 million unique users in April.
Kate Gosselin: She’s been a boon to The Dish Rag and to Zap2it, but her reach into the gossip blogosphere isn’t as deep yet.
Winner: Nadya. Web-stats tracker Alexa lists 54 sites when her name is the search term to 30 for Kate.
