Quidam One of Cirque du Soleil's most beloved productions, the show follows a young girl's journey through an imaginary world, complete with the company's famous acrobatic feats, whimsical characters, original musical score and Dominique Lemieux's Surrealist-inspired costumes. Jacques d'Amboise He was a principal dancer in the New York City Ballet for more than 30 years, danced with some of the outfit's most famous ballerinas, including Maria Tallchief, Tanaquil LeClercq, Allegra Kent and Suzanne Farrell, and worked with such choreographers as Jerome Robbins and Martha Graham. Now, D'Amboise has written a memoir, "I Was a Dancer," which he will discuss as part of Aloud at Los Angeles Central Library. Revolver Golden Gods Awards It goes without saying that this award show won't be a quiet, stuffy affair. The celebration of hard rock and heavy metal will honor musicians, vocalists and bands, and shock-rocker Alice Cooper will receive the Golden God Award.
