Jacques d’Amboise He was a principal dancer in the New York City Ballet for more than 30 years, danced with some of the outfit’s most famous ballerinas, including Maria Tallchief, Tanaquil LeClercq, Allegra Kent and Suzanne Farrell, and worked with such choreographers as Jerome Robbins and Martha Graham. Now, D’Amboise has written a memoir, “I Was a Dancer,” which he will discuss as part of Aloud at Los Angeles Central Library.
