Catch the animated Japanese classic, “Princess Mononoke,” in a rare big-screen appearance at the Egyptian Theatre. Originally released in Japan in 1997, and in the U.S. in 1999, the film is set in the late Muromachi period of Japan but also contains a healthy dose of the fantastical. The story explores the struggle between supernatural forest guardians and the humans of the Iron Town who are destroying it with their greedy use of its resources. Egyptian Theatre, 6712 Hollywood Blvd., L.A. 7:30 p.m. Sun. $11. (323) 461-2020; https://www.americancinematheque.com.
