From ‘Dracula’ to ‘Vertigo,’ Halloween weekend is a moviegoers delight
It’s not just for trick-or-treaters or partygoers anymore, Halloween has become a mecca for specialized-film going as well, with all kinds of cinema available through the holiday weekend.
For the more tradition-minded, the American Cinematheque (Aero Theatre, 1328 Montana Ave., Santa Monica) offers the classic double bill of the original 1931 Bela Lugosi-starring “Dracula” paired with 1936’s “Dracula’s Daughter,” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30.

A more unusual choice is offered by the Norton Simon Museum (411 W. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena). Screening at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 28 is that most disturbing of modern films, Alfred Hitchcock’s “Vertigo,” starring James Stewart and Kim Novak in as dark and deeply personal a film as anything that shows up at Sundance.
