Country singer LeAnn Rimes and her husband, actor Eddie Cibrian, will star in a new VH1 series, tentatively titled “LeAnn & Eddie,” based on the lives of the celebrity couple.

It’s initially ordered as a six-episode series and is slated to premiere later this year or early in 2014. It’s not known yet whether the show will be scripted or a conventional reality series, but Rimes recently told the Associated Press that the latter “kind of typical model doesn’t work for us.”

She said they were interested in “a show based in reality… A scripted show based around or lives.”

Rimes and Cibrian have been married for two years, having met while filming the Lifetime movie “Northern Lights.” Rimes, Cibrian and his ex-wife, actress Brandi Glanville, were regular subjects of tabloid coverage, often revolving around a Twitter war between Rimes and Glanville.

A statement about the show issued earlier this week said the new series will “bring the truth and make fun of all the gossip.”

Rimes released her latest album, “Spitfire,” in June.
