Chicago rapper Towkio teams up with Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment for ‘Free Your Mind’

SaveMoney affiliate Towkio, the Chicago rapper formerly known as Tokyo Shawn, is gearing up to drop his latest project ".Wav Theory” sometime in April. After sharing its club-ready first single “Involved,” which was produced by Kaytranada and featured local MC Vic Mensa, Towkio teams up with another rising Chicago talent in Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment for “Free Your Mind."

“Free Your Mind” is a funky track that boasts production from Cam Obi along with Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment. It bounces along with prominent grooves, artfully done voice modulation, and an abundance of horn-led hooks. Like most of the SaveMoney crew, Towkio proves to be a beast behind the mic, with his verses effortless and his choruses instantly palatable. In a statement, he revealed, "This record was made over a year ago… When you create the right emotion the work becomes timeless.
