If the Oprah Winfrey Network wants to live its best life, it looks like it might want to consider getting in the Kardashian business on a more permanent basis. Or maybe we just need more Winfrey?

Sunday’s second installment of Winfrey’s sit-down with the reality family, part of “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” drew a bigger audience than the first part, which oddly included Kim Kardashian sort of quoting Maya Angelou. The episode brought in 1.2 million total viewers, a 9% increase from the previous week. As if that wasn’t enough to make the OWN execs go manic like the overexcited audience members in one of Winfrey’s “Favorite Things” episodes from her retired talk show, then maybe this will help: It ranked No. 1 among females in the key demos and Part 2 stands as the third-most-watched broadcast in OWN history — see, the Kanye West cliffhanger really works!

The network’s exclusive with the family of the late Whitney Houston holds the top spot with 3.5 million viewers, followed by the “Oprah’s Next Chapter” interview with televangelist Joel Olsteen, which garnered 1.6 million viewers.

It’s all helping the young network slowly turn around its troubles. The network posted its second consecutive quarter of double-digit growth. In prime time, it’s up 11% in total viewers and 10% with women 25-54 versus a year ago -- its new syndicated programs in daytime have helped it grow 31% in total viewers and 25% with women 25-54.

In “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” which debuted at the beginning of the year, Winfrey has reclaimed her signature interview mode. Its upcoming episode features members of NBA championship winners, the Miami Heat.
