CBS renews ‘Two and a Half Men’ for its 11th season
CBS officially announced Monday its renewal of “Two and a Half Men” for an 11th season.
In case your Google alerts on “Two and a Half Men” were iffy over the weekend, reports of the show’s renewal hit Friday afternoon. Stars Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen-replacer Ashton Kutcher will be back.
But more was made about the downplayed role Angus T. Jones (a.k.a. the “half” of the show’s title) would have next season as a recurring character -- even though it’s on par with his role this season. His character, Jake, joined the Army at the end of the ninth season, reducing his involvement in the show this year.
Guess the surprise is more in the fact that he kept his job at all.

The young star caused a kerfuffle last fall when he appeared in a testimonial posted by Forerunner Christian Church, in which he took a swipe at the series and noted his desire to no longer be part of the series.
Despite troubles behind the scenes, the decision to keep the series going was a no-brainer. Now in its 10th season, the series still draws a large audience -- even with its move to Thursdays. It has averaged about 14 million viewers this season, and has a 4.1 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 age demographic.
The comedy joins a “How I Met Your Mother,” “2 Broke Girls,” “Mike & Molly” and “The Big Bang Theory” in the renewal block.
