MTV looks to food and virgins for new reality series

Share

Food, more food, therapy and virgins are the topics of four new reality series MTV announced on Wednesday.

Surely the series most likely to provoke discussion is what MTV is calling the “Untitled Virgins Project,” a reality series following various young people from across the country struggling with temptation, relationships and their status as virgins. Luckily, MTV isn’t putting them all in the same house together, otherwise, their premise would likely be thrown out the window pretty quickly.

This isn’t the first time MTV has followed virgins around with a camera. They have previously followed engaged virgin couples for the reality series “Engaged & Underage,” about young people getting married, in 2007.

MTV is putting several young chefs under the same roof, however, in the reality series “House of Food,” which will have them competing in food-related challenges to win a much-coveted apprenticeship.

Another food-related series is “Snackdown” from creator Rob Dyrdek, another cooking competition show, which asks aspiring chefs to take traditional snack foods and turn them into culinary masterpieces.

And finally, there’s “The Ex and the Why,” a series that puts young guys and gals on the therapy couch as they seek to sort out issues from past relationships.

All of the series are expected to debut in 2014.
