Did Hugh Laurie and Craig Ferguson guess Bill Clinton’s drag name?

Outgoing “Late Late Show” host Craig Ferguson is now an American citizen, which may help explain why he seemed much more comfortable goofing on U.S. politicians with guest Hugh Laurie on Thursday night. But together, they may have come up with the greatest idea to hit Washington in years: Bill Clinton’s drag name.

Laurie was telling Ferguson about a tour he was once given of the White House by a woman named Dorothy LeBlond.

“That’s Clinton’s drag name, I think,” Ferguson said.

Actually, LeBlond was the daughter of then-President George H.W. Bush. She has since remarried and now goes by Dorothy Bush Koch.

But no matter, Ferguson wasn’t done. After his too-brief impression of Clinton as a drag queen, he moved on to the rest of the politicians in Washington. Like many, he wasn’t impressed with those he’s met. But what was surprising was how unwilling Laurie was to follow him down his train of thought.

“Many of the people I ran into, I thought, ‘Senator? Are you serious? Congressman? I wouldn’t let you walk my ... dog,’” Ferguson said.

But Laurie kept his distance, stating simply, “I don’t know politicians. I don’t mix with politicians.”

Maybe that has something to do with the fact that as a British citizen he needs to stay on Washington’s good side to keep visiting the States.
