Both series are about to wrap their current seasons on Dec. 20.

This season, “Homeland” has averaged 5.5 million weekly viewers across all platforms (DVR, streaming and conventional TV), while “The Affair” has averaged 3.8 million, according to the network.

“The Affair” stars Ruth Wilson and Dominic West as two lovers whose lives are torn apart in an extramarital affair and subsequent murder case. The story is told “Rashomon”-like from multiple points of view.
