De Beers celebrates its 126 years of diamonds with new collection

Share

De Beers, the jewelry company that specializes in diamonds, is commemorating its 126th anniversary with the new 1888 Master Diamonds collection.

Launched on May 1, Master Diamonds showcases unique colored diamonds that vary in size, ranging from 0.68 carat to 10.10 carat. There are more commonly seen emerald cut yellow diamond rings as well as rarer round cut, brown-orange diamond rings.

The white diamonds in the collection are far from typical. For instance, the 8 carat Phenomena Frost ring was patterned after the shape of an ice formation, and the Phenomena Stream ring echoes the flow of water towards the ocean.

“Every design is meant to bring out the drama of the diamond,” says Hollie Bonneville Barden, De Beers’ head designer.

For those planning a summertime engagement or looking for an impressive Mother’s Day gift, all of the styles in the 1888 Master Diamonds Collection are available for purchase, prices upon request.

For those who just want to do a little window-shopping, the collection is currently on display at the company’s FifthAvenue store in New York City. Later this month, at a date still to be determined, it will travel to the De Beers Costa Mesa boutique, where Southern California residents can ogle, purchase or perhaps just stare mesmerized for a few moments.
