Frost and found

Heaps of old buttons, tangled watch chains and rusty pocket knives sitting at an estate sale can be a neat freak’s worst nightmare. Not the case for designer Lisa Salzar who depends on ressurecting these finds for her jewelery line, Lulu Frost. Salzar links Victorian shoe buckles together to form delicate cuffs and spins art deco buttons into dangling earrings with found objects from flea markets and estate sales all over the world. One of her most fortunate finds was the original door numbers from the Plaza Hotel which she turned into long layering necklaces with the room numbers and letters from the restroom doors as pendants. It’s history well worth repeating.
