Imagine Lady Gaga in this

PARIS -- On Aura Tout Vu, which roughly translates as “Now You’ve Seen Everything,” may be the quirkiest design house on the official Paris haute couture calendar. So it’s not surprising that Lady Gaga numbers among its customers.

Label designers Livia Stoianova and Yassen Samouilov showed their spring-summer collection, themed “Cosmic Beetle,” this week, and it was easy to imagine Lady Gaga wearing some of the clothes onstage. In keeping with the concept, real beetle wings substituted for sequins, lighting up necklines, shoulders and transparent sleeves or giving an entire dress a surreal-seeming iridescence.

And with the snow falling on Paris at the start of the week, a few raincoats seemed like a good idea, especially the Bulgarian design duo’s fashionable clear plastic versions. Why hide couture beneath a typical trench, when one can protect precious ensembles and show them off at the same time?
