In 1963, architect Lloyd Wright, son of Frank Lloyd Wright, built the Bowler residence, an angular construction in Rancho Palos Verdes that was featured in the 1991 Steve Martin film “L.A. Story.” On April 6, this suite of furniture designed by Lloyd Wright to complement the geometry of the living spaces will be part of Bonhams & Butterfields 20th century decorative arts sale. The velvet club chairs and ottoman, one of four sets up for auction, are estimated to sell for between $1,500 to $2,500. The hexagonal walnut veneer nesting tables are expected to fetch between $1,000 and $1,500. Designs by Stickley, Tiffany, Erte and Gio Ponti will also be auctioned. You can preview all the pieces from noon to 5 p.m. April 3-5; the auction starts at 1 p.m. April 6. 7601 W. Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles; (323) 850-7500; www.bonhams.com.
